Samsung S5 Review: Latest Phone 'Slow At Times'

Technology website founder Stuart Miles tells Sky News the device improves on last year's S4 but still has flaws.

A technology pundit has given Sky News his verdict on Samsung's new S5 phone - praising its "stunning" 5.1-inch display but warning it is occasionally "a bit slow".
Pocket Lint founder Stuart Miles said the device improved on last year's S4, which he said received a "lukewarm" response.
He said Samsung had clearly acted on feedback and simplified the phone whilst still "packing it with all the latest technologies".
He said: "Key things to mention are the stunning 5.1-inch display. It really is very impressive and you'll certainly see it pop out at you whenever you turn it on.
"What we really like is the 16 megapixel camera which allows you to shoot 4K which is very future-proof."

He said that in tests it appeared to outperform the HTC One M8.
"It's not all perfect," he warned.
"Samsung's insistence on putting a rather animated animation across Android does slow things down.
"As a power user we'd like it to be a lot more instant in its response. It's not bad, but people will see it's a bit slow at times."
He also warned the built-in heart rate monitor may prove to be a bit of a novelty, while the fingerprint scanner needs two hands and is not as easy to use as the iPhone 5S.
The 16GB model costs £579 without a mobile phone contract.
