Chinese conglomerate Alibaba says that it expects to launch its first MVNO service this coming June.
It was granted one of the country's first MVNO licenses earlier this year.
The company said in a statement that it has built its billing system and plans to launch services in June. It has been approved to work with all three mobile networks, although it is still quiet on which one it has negotiated wholesale airtime access with.
The mobile services are also expected to be predominantly data based, and will be tied into Alibaba's existing mobile content platforms.
The network launch is however only a trial, as the MVNO licenses are only for two years, after which the government is still undecided about their future.
