AT&T has reached agreement to bring ultra fast Internet service to a second region, North Carolina's Research Triangle area, The News & Observer of Raleigh reports.
AT&T's GigaPower, which offers speeds about 20 times faster than most broadband connections, is available only in Austin, Texas.
The agreement still must be ratified by the North Carolina municipalities involved. The region includes UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University, N.C. State University and Wake Forest University.
