Cloud storage outfit Dropbox has snapped up Bubbli, the photo app that turns pictures into 360 degree 'bubbles' with sound.
An email sent to Bubbli users from founders Ben Newhouse and Terrence McArdle said they were "thrilled" to be joining Dropbox.
"By joining forces we'll be able to continue to transform how you experience your memories on a much larger scale," they wrote.
"The bubbles everyone has shared have blown us away. We’re working on integrating bubbles into Dropbox and we’ll keep you posted on our progress.
"Until then, you can continue capturing bubbles the same way you have in the past!"
The free app works by stitching together photographs and audio taken in one location and morphing them into a 'photosphere'. The 'bubbles' can be shared and are viewable on any phone or web browser.
Dropbox attracted controversy recently after it announced it was appointing George Bush's former security advisor and advocate of the National Security Agency eavesdropping programme, Condoleezza Rice.
The move prompted an angry online campaign by users to 'Drop Dropbox' and switch to other cloud-sharing tools such as Google Drive.
The Bubbli deal comes just a month after Dropbox acquired photo and video cloud storage app Loom, and document collaboration app Hackpad.
