Vodafone Hits Back at Reports of Poor Network Quality

                                             

Vodafone has criticized a report that claimed its UK network was the poorest performing in the UK claiming that the report is based on old data.

The company claimed that the way Root Metrics carried out its testing does not appear to follow standard industry practices and also appeared to incorporates data some of which may well be over six months old.

The date of the testing could be significant, as the top network, EE was given permission by the regulator to launch its LTE services earlier than its rivals, and that could well have tipped the network performance ratings in its favour in the early tests.

Both O2 and Three also complained that the findings did not fully reflect their own LTE network deployments.

Vodafone also alluded to concerns that the report wasn't entirely impartial, without elaborating, although it should be noted that Root Metrics does count the other mobile networks as customers, although it denies this biases its reports.

Vodafone added that "We cannot take the results of this report seriously and neither should our customers."

However. this is the second time that Root Metrics has found serious problems with the Vodafone network, as last year it reported that the network was the worst performing in the capital city, London.
