Apple’s latest iOS update may lower your battery life, affecting 21% of devices

After more than 21 percent of all iOS users downloaded Apple’s latest update (version 7.1), many are reporting a significant drop in battery life.
Early tests on iOS 7.1 suggested that the update affected only the first generation iPad Mini. Meanwhile, just days after iOS 7.1′s release, reports are pouring in on Apple’s forums and social media.
Currently, the battery-life issue appears to only affect a limited number of devices; we cannot verify an exact percentage of people experiencing this problem. Adoption of iOS 7.1 has not proved as enthusiastic as Apple’s 7.0 release, but that’s common with iterative updates.
Apple did not immediately respond to VentureBeat’s requests for comment.
