The essential tech specs
With a 2,800mAh battery, the S5 gives 21 hours talk time and up to 390 hours of standby. Running Android KitKat 4.4.2, it's also got a top of the range 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, so it's among the fastest phones on the market. The 5.1" Super AMOLED adjusts to your current lighting, and the 1080p HD resolution gives an incredible 432 pixels per inch (PPI). The 16MP rear camera and 2MP front camera are excellent, and with 16GB of built-in memory and a microSD slot for memory cards up to 128GB (cards sold separately), there's plenty of space for videos.

You can track your exercise statistics, what food you've eaten, your weight and even your stress levels with the new S-health 3.0. There's even a Coach app that'll help you achieve your health goals. On the back of the S5, next to the flash is a heart rate monitor. Just place your finger over the monitor and let S-Health use your heart rate to track your fitness.
Take photos that are always in focus
You'll be able to take some pretty special photos with the Galaxy S5's camera. It has the fastest autofocus of any smartphone as it uses a system that, until now, has only been seen on the top digital cameras. That means your 16MP photos will always be pin sharp, even quick snaps. It also has an advance high dynamic range mode that picks out light and dark spots on photos in perfect detail, and it even works on videos.
Thin, light, but still water and dust proof
The S5 is thin, light, and full of the latest technology. Not only that, it's water resistant too. Listen to your songs in the shower if you want! Passing IP67 certification means it's dust proof, but also able to withstand being under 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. Just make sure the back cover is on firmly and the port covered closed.
Secure payments, photos, videos and files with a fingerprint scanner
The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen of your S5. Unlock your phone without a PIN, just by swiping down on the screen above the home button. It can also be used for mobile payments, such as with PayPal. And, if you've personal files like photos, videos or work documents, keep them in Private Mode. The only way to access it is with your fingerprint. For security, you fingerprints image is heavily encrypted and stored only on the phone.
Your battery can last for days
If you find that the battery in your smartphone doesn't last all day, you'll love the Galaxy S5. It has an ultra power saving mode that can stretch just 10% of battery life for almost 24 hours, making it perfect for emergencies. It works by turning the screen into black and white mode and switching off all unnecessary features, leaving you with calls and texts. So if you can't get to a charger but need to be contactable, the Galaxy S5 will keep going.
A screen that adjusts to your environment
