Vodafone UK has outlined plans to open 150 new retail stores and hire 1 400 staff over the forthcoming year to boost its sales capabilities.
The cost of the retail expansion is put at around £100 million, and comes out of the £1 billion network upgrade investment the company has already announced.
In addition to its investment in direct retail, Vodafone said that it will work with unspecified "indirect partners".
The 150 shops will open over the next 12 months, increasing the total number of Vodafone's branded UK outlets to more than 500.
